Forensic Scientist/Investigator

I have a Bachelors and a Masters in Biology with a concentration in Molecular Biology. I was a Senior Crime Laboratory Analyst working in the Serology/DNA Section of the Pensacola Lab of the Florida. Department of Law Enforcement for 13 years. DNA analysis involved both early PCR technology of Polymarker and current STR techniques using Profiler and Cofiler for CODIS compatible 13 marker profiles. The last 5 years at FDLE also involved being certified in and working active cases for Bloodstain Pattern Analysis. I then spent 3 years with the Escambia County Florida's Sheriffs Department as a Crime Scene Investigator and forensic laboratory analyst. I was actively involved in the major case squad response team and the cold case management team during my work with the S.O. I have testified in state and federal courts numerous times as an expert witness in Serology, DNA, Bloodstain Pattern Analysis and Crime Scene Investigation. I started and am currently managing this forensic consultant service.

I am a member of the International Association for Identification and the Florida Division of the IAI and serve on standing commitees in each organiziation. I am a past member of the Southern Association of Forensic Scientists and the Florida Academy of Science. I have spent many years training and teaching in various areas of forensics as well as being a past Adjunct Professor in Biology at the community college level for over 10 years.

I also have arrangements with independent contractors to provide ancillary services which include expertise in medical-legal investigations, pathology, latent prints, specialized crime scene techniques, and forensic graphics.
